Although curtain tracks have become increasingly common in our homes in recent years, a classic curtain rod is still a popular choice for hanging curtains. With curtain rods, you get a classic look for your curtain hanging, where the rod itself has a decorative function and becomes a beautiful part of the overall design. Curtain rods give a somewhat rustic, country feel, while it is just as easy to create a modern curtain arrangement, for example, with stylish hotel waves, even with a curtain rod.
Curtains on a rod
The easiest way to hang a curtain on a rod is to thread the curtain directly onto the rod through the curtain's loops.
However, if you want the curtain to hang in more specific pleats/waves, it's better to opt for curtain rings, which you can then combine with the curtain hooks you desire. Curtain rings also add an extra decorative element and do not conceal the curtain rod in the same way as when you hang the curtain by its loops.
Placement of curtain rod
Traditionally, curtain rods have been placed just above the window, with a width equal to or slightly wider than the window itself. However, to create a sense of spaciousness and allow for as much natural light as possible, it's better to rethink the placement of the curtain rod. Install the curtain rod closer to the ceiling instead; this will make the window appear larger and the ceiling height higher.
If you choose a curtain rod wider than the window, you also won't cover as much of the window, as the curtains will frame the window rather than covering it. This way, the natural light becomes a beautiful part of the decor, and the room feels brighter and airier.

It's also a great idea to hang curtains in double layers on curtain rods for a wonderful hotel feel! Opt for double curtain rods and complement them with a double bracket so you can mount two curtain rods parallel on the same bracket. Add curtain rings and curtain hooks for a complete hotel setup where you can also easily open and close the curtains as needed.

Diskreta gardinstänger för mindre fönster
