Common questions about curtain hooks
How many hooks do I need?
The number of curtain hooks depends on the width of the curtain and how dense you want the pleats to be. As a guideline, you can use approximately 10 hooks for a single width and approximately 20 hooks for a double width. An even number of hooks usually provides a more even finish on both sides.
What tongs create hotel waves?
Gathering tape hooks! Space them evenly (approx. 10 cm, or approx. 16 cm if you are using gliders on a cord) and make sure to use an even number of hooks per curtain for the best result.
What is the difference between high- and low-finger grip?
The difference between low and high attachment concerns how the curtain is positioned in relation to the track.
Low attachment (glider hook) means the curtain sits higher and can conceal the track, while high attachment (eyelet hook) positions the curtain below the track and is suitable for all our tracks as well as hanging in rings on a pole.
What is the difference between 1-, 2-, and 4-finger hooks?
1-finger hook: works like a gather tape hook and can create soft waves.
2-finger hook: creates firm, slightly smaller pleats.
4-finger hook: can create several different types of firm pleats, including French pleats (also called inverted pleats) and pencil pleats.
How do you hang curtains with hooks?
How curtains are hung with hooks depends on the type of hook and hanging system you choose. The hooks are attached to the curtain heading tape and then hung in the track gliders or in rings on the curtain rod, depending on the solution. In our guide on curtain hanging systems, you can read more about different options.
I want to be able to pull the curtain completely flat, which hook should I use?
Then you should use a pleat tape hook (or a 1-finger hook, which works in the same way), which allows you to extend the curtain and use its full width when needed.
2- and 4-finger hooks, on the other hand, create fixed pleats that remain even when the curtain is drawn, and therefore cannot be completely flattened.
What curtain hooks fit curtain tape?
It depends on the heading tape the curtain has. Our curtains come with combi tape, also called multi-purpose tape, which means they work with most types of curtain hooks.
