In a fully renovated townhouse outside Stockholm, Anita Ibric lives with her partner and three children. Anita, who works as a lawyer, describes her style as "Scandinavian with a twist" – something reflected in the natural material choices and color scheme in her home. Anita has decorated throughout with custom-made curtains, so the luxurious hotel feel is present in all rooms of the house and creates a cohesive and cozy atmosphere.
Natural shades and material choices
The dominant colors in Anita's home are beige and greige in various shades, combined with black details and different types of wood. Anita says that for her, it is important to decorate personally rather than sticking to a specific style. The home is dominated by social areas where spending time with friends and family should feel natural.
Anita's choice of natural color tones forms a harmonious base but is anything but colorless! By adding personal interior details and lovely greenery, Anita creates a home where exciting forms and personal expressions create her unique style.
"My style is inspired by Scandinavian style, but with my own twist. I like to try different material choices in combination with each other and I go a lot by feel when I decorate and try not to think too much about sticking to just one style. I draw inspiration from, for example, Nordic design, the Japandi style, soft minimalism, and feng shui by, among other things, adding a lot of flowers that enhance the harmony in the home."
Custom-made curtains
Anita has decorated all the rooms with custom-made curtains – partly to achieve that cozy hotel feeling, but also for practical reasons like privacy. Decorating with curtains is also practical when it comes to being able to vary your decor. Anita suggests that being able to rotate decor and curtains for variety and to easily create a new feel in a room that needs a change. This way, you are also less likely to get tired of your decor. The ceiling height is often the same throughout a home, and the same type of windows often reappear in several rooms, which means that even custom-made curtains offer this possibility.
When asked for her best curtain tip, Anita's answer is crystal clear:
"Investing in custom-made curtains is my best tip. It's so worth it! Start with the space you have in front of you and choose tailor-made."
It's clear that every detail in Anita's home is well thought out. The custom-made curtains in neutral shades form a perfect base where details set the mood and where natural elements of flowers and plants add a fresh and spring-like atmosphere.
