Stretched out in the niche
There are times when you need to block out light but don't want to or aren't allowed to drill into your windows. In modern houses with aluminum frames around the windows, you are often not allowed to drill because they are part of the load-bearing structure.
Hasta Tension is a friction roller blind that fastens by tensioning it in the window recess. The spring-loaded mechanism has mounting plates that attach to the wall when you turn and expand the roller blind.

Common questions about Tension blinds
What is the difference between 28 mm and 38 mm?
28 and 38 mm refer to the size of the tube on which the fabric is rolled.
The fabric itself is always a few cm narrower than the total measurement (the width of the roller blind including brackets). For Tension 28 mm, the fabric will be about 3 cm narrower, while for 38 mm, it will be about 5 cm shorter.
This means that there is generally less gap at the sides of the fabric with Tension 28 mm. This can be advantageous if you want to use a blackout roller blind, where you wish to minimize light ingress from the sides.
Tension 38 mm, on the other hand, has a thicker tube which allows for a greater height of the roller blind, as the tube can handle more weight from the fabric.
Tension 28 mm requires a recess depth of 5 cm to be properly installed, while Tension 38 mm requires an installation surface of approximately 6 cm.
How do I measure for Tension?
Always measure the recess exactly where the roller blind will be installed, in case the window is slightly crooked. If you have a very crooked and warped window, it is a good idea to check that the width of the window recess does not differ by more than 1 cm on each side. Otherwise, there is a risk that the roller blind will hit the sides when you roll it down.
When ordering Hasta Tension, you should always state the exact width of the window recess, and we will make the roller blind to fit that measurement perfectly.
How deep does the niche need to be?
Tension 28 mm needs a niche depth of 5 cm to properly attach, while Tension 38 mm needs approximately 6 cm of mounting surface.
Which fabrics are suitable for Tension?
All standard roller blind fabrics are suitable for Hasta Tension, including plain, blackout, Day&Night, and screen fabrics.
How accurately do I need to measure?
It's important that you measure as precisely as possible. The roller blind has a tolerance level of +/-1.5 mm.
However! The roller blind will look best if you provide exact measurements – so measure carefully!
How wide will the weave itself be?
Since the Hasta Tension is expanded to fit into the niche, the difference in total measurements and fabric measurements depends on how carefully you have measured. If you have measured carefully, the bracket adds approximately 1.5-2.5 cm on each side, meaning the fabric is about 3-5 cm smaller than the total measurement of the roller blind.
Is Tension available as other sun protection products?
