A bed valance can contribute both visually and practically to the look of the bedroom. It hides the bed legs and any storage under the bed, while softening the overall impression and framing the bed. Together with curtains and other textiles, the bed valance contributes to a cosy and harmonious feel in the bedroom – not least if you want to create a hotel-inspired feel at home.
Match the bed valance with your other textiles for a cohesive look, or let colour, fabric and texture create a contrast in the room. A bed valance with a linen texture gives a natural look, while velvet adds a softer and cosier feel. Choose the colour and fabric to suit the style of the bedroom and let the bed valance become part of the overall look.

Match your bed valance and curtains
Hasta's bed valances can be matched with curtains in the same fabric to create a common thread between the textiles in the room. Choose a colour tone-on-tone with the walls for a coordinated look, or let the curtains and bed valance add colour and become a more prominent part of the room. The collection consists of fabrics in calm tones, from neutral shades to muted colours, which are easy to combine and contribute to a harmonious look in the bedroom.
Using the same fabric for both the bed valance and the curtains creates a natural link between the bed and the window. Add bed linen, pillows and other textiles in similar tones or contrasting colours, depending on the feel you want to create in the bedroom.
How far down should a bed valance hang?
A bed valance should end just above the floor to cover the space between the bed and the floor and give a well-considered overall look. The bed valance also has a nicer drape when it hangs freely without resting on the floor – just like curtains.
Because beds vary in both height and construction, a bed valance with a standard height can be difficult to get right – not least for taller continental beds. Hasta's bed valances are therefore made to measure in height to fit your bed, so that you can choose for yourself how far down the bed valance should go.
How high the bed valance needs to be also depends on where it is placed. On a standard bed, it is placed under the mattress topper, while on a continental bed it is placed under the sprung mattress. Therefore, always measure from the point where the bed valance will be placed down to the floor, and enter the required height when ordering.

More fabrics and widths to choose from
We are now expanding the collection with more widths, fabrics and colours, giving you more options to find a bed valance that suits both the bed and the look of the bedroom. Our bestseller Lina is now available in more shades, with the neutral tones complemented by dark green and turquoise, among others. We are also adding bed valances in soft velvet in several calm shades, where blue and purple add an exciting touch for those who want to let colour take up a little more space in the bedroom.
If you want to let the texture play a bigger role, there is Mylla, a fabric with a natural texture in a light beige tone. The range is also being expanded with three new widths – 105, 200 and 210 cm – to fit more bed sizes. The height is always made to measure to fit your bed, so you can choose for yourself how far down the bed valance should go – a tailored solution for a lovely drape and a well-thought-out hotel feel in the bedroom.
